Carol Wills, the former IFAT secretary general, visited Pekerti Office on February 22nd, 2008. Few years ago Carol wills helped Pekerti to develop Apikri and Mitra Bali. She also helped to develop CD bethesda and Yakkum. Her visiting to Pekerti is to meet friends in Pekerti Jakarta and Yogyakarta.. In Jakarta she spend one day to have meeting with everyone at Pekerti and finding out how pekerti is doing. In Yogyakarta She accompanied by Pekerti team visiting some of houses that built by Pekerti for earthquake victim. She still concern to help Pekerti to look at funding proposal for Project.
Pekerti’ World Fair Trade Day 2008 Celebration
As a Fair Trade organization Pekerti was never absent in celebrating the world Fair Trade day. In year 2008, with the theme of “bersama Fair Trade kita selamatkan bumi (with Fair Trade we save our world)” Pekerti celebrated world Fair Trade Day by holding a tree plantation activity on May 10th 2008. This activity was held at “Kampung Pekerti’ (Pekerti village), land purchased by a group of Pekerti’s staff and board”. The 12,822 m2 of land has been chosen to become a pilot tree plantation project for the supply of raw materials used for craft.
